The Park am Buschkrug is located in the Berlin district of Britz in the Neukölln district , in the street block Blaschkoallee , Buschkrugallee , Hannemannstraße and Riesestraße . It is named after a former restaurant opposite, the Buschkrug .

history

Fitness course

The approximately 79,000 m² site served as a burial site in earlier centuries . It gained archaeological fame when construction workers discovered two human skeletons from the time of the Great Migration in the 5th and 6th centuries on March 28, 1951 . The site was later used to deposit war debris. Until 1952 it was used as a gravel pit . The pit was then filled in and, after being renatured , the area was opened to the public in May 1952. Between 2007 and 2011, the park was renovated for 3.5 million euros. In particular, the renewal of the paths and accessibility were in the foreground. In the eastern half of the park was the proposal Linzer sports scientist Roland Werthner, a former decathlete and triple jumper in the Austrian national team, a fitness parcours furnished. It comprises a total of 13 groups of equipment that park visitors can use to train their fitness. The district office made a further 400,000 euros available for this. The grand opening of this sports track took place on September 6, 2011. Near the subway station Blaschkoallee is a plastic made of bronze by Justus Chrukin entitled soaring group from the year 1964th

The acacia forest is opposite the park across Blaschkoallee .
