The park Wielandplatz , also called Wielandpark , is a Viennese park in the 10th district, Favoriten .

The Wielandplatz park is a 4,500 m² Beserlpark in the Favoriten district . As the name suggests, the park is located in the middle of Wielandplatz, was redesigned in 2004 and reopened on June 7, 2005 by City Councilor Ulli Sima and District Manager Hermine Mospointner . It has old trees, a playground for toddlers, children and young people , a sand playground, table tennis , a dog area and a drinking fountain , as well as seasonal park supervision by Kinderfreunde Wien . In the middle of the park is an oval open space, which is surrounded by numerous seating options.

history

The park Wielandplatz was named in 1866 together with the adjacent Wielandgasse after the German poet Christoph Martin Wieland (1733-1813).
