The 2002 parliamentary elections in Latvia took place on October 5, 2002. It was the election of the 8th Saeima of the Republic of Latvia .

Electoral system

100 seats in the Latvian parliament were redefined. There was a five percent threshold . The election was based on proportional representation . The legislative period was four years.

Election result

6 of 20 lists moved into the Saeima. The others failed at the 5% hurdle.
