Parodia neohorstii is a species of plant in the genus Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet neohorstii honors the cactus collector Leopoldo Horst (1918–1987), who comes from Germany and lives in Brazil.

Parodia neohorstii grows individually. The green spherical shoots are elongated with age and reach a diameter of 5 to 9 centimeters. The 18 to 26 wavy ribs are blunt and somewhat humped in the area of ​​the shoot apex. The areoles on them are white. The mostly single black or dark brown central spine , sometimes two to three, is subpulate and protruding. It has a length of 1 to 3 centimeters. The 14 to 24 spreading whitish radial spines have a darker tip and are 3 to 7 millimeters long.

The golden yellow flowers reach a diameter of 2.5 to 3.5 centimeters and lengths of 3 to 4 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with white wool and bristles. The scars are dark red-brown. The reddish or greenish, cylindrical fruits are up to 0.8 centimeters long. They contain black seeds that are almost smooth.

Parodia neohorstii is common in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul .

The description as Notocactus neohorstii by Sjef Theunissen was published in 1966. Nigel Paul Taylor introduced the art to Parodia in 1987 . Another nomenclature synonym is Peronocactus neohorstii (S. Theun.) Doweld (1999). Other synonyms include Wigginsia horstii F.Ritter (1979) and Ritterocactus horstii (F.Ritter) Doweld (2000).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN is the species as " Critically Endangered (CR) ", d. H. listed as critically endangered.
