Parrish Peak is a very pointed, partially snow-covered summit of the Enterprise Hills in the West Antarctic Heritage Range . The 1775 m high mountain is located in the southeastern part of the mountain group. From Parrish Peak, a mountain ridge about 3 miles long extends west-southwest into the Horseshoe Valley , at the end of which is Strong Peak .
Parrish Peak was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the 1961-66 survey of the Ellsworth Mountains through field surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy . The summit was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after Edward N. Parrish, a glaciologist who made two South Pole Queen Maud Land crossings as a member of the United States Antarctic Research Program in the Antarctic summers 1964–65 and 1965–66 participated.
