Pars Tuğlacı

Pars Tuğlacı (born April 1, 1933 in Istanbul - December 12, 2016 ibid), actually Parseğ Tuğlacıyan ( Armenian Բարսեղ Թուղլաճեան ), was a Turkish writer and linguist and historian of Armenian descent. He was a member of the Turkish Writers Union and the Turkish Press Association.

Life

Tuğlacı received his primary education in Istanbul, his secondary education at the Melkonian Institute in Cyprus and his higher education at the US University of Michigan . In 1955 he returned to Turkey. He worked as a teacher at three grammar schools in Istanbul and was an English teacher at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy in Ankara . He compiled the first Turkish dictionary of medical terms. He was invited to the Çankaya Palace by three Turkish presidents ( İsmet İnönü , Cevdet Sunay and Fahri Korutürk ) and honored for his services to the Turkish language. He has held conferences on languages ​​and history in Istanbul, Vienna , Moscow , Paris , Montreal , Toronto , Detroit , New York City , Los Angeles and San Francisco , and has published numerous books, articles, dictionaries and encyclopedias on Turkish and Ottoman history as well as the Turkish language.

In the local elections in 1989 Tuğlacı was mayoral candidate of the Right Path Party (DYP) for the Prince Islands in the Sea of ​​Marmara. He was also the representative of Turkey in the International Parliament for Security and Peace . Tuğlacı wrote the first documentary Turkish encyclopedia; it spanned the years from 1071 to 1997.

Pars Tuğlacı received an honorary doctorate from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and a general research doctor from Los Angeles-Addison State University, as well as a doctorate in literature from the Applied Research Institute of the University of London , an honorary doctorate from the United States Institute of International Bibliography , the Honorary Professorship at the International Coordinating Research Institute of Australia , the title of baron of the Bohemian Crown, the military title of the military sea eagle and the title of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem (Salib-i Mukaddes).
