Parthenonas ( Greek Παρθενώνας ( m. Sg. )) Is a mountain village on the Greek peninsula of Sithonia in the municipality of the same name in the prefecture of Chalkidiki . It is located 350 m above sea level, around five kilometers by road from the port of Neos Marmaras . From the village there is a wide view over the Toronean Gulf with the small island of Kelyfos to the Kassandra peninsula .

The once large town gradually lost its inhabitants to the newly founded Neos Marmaras from 1922 until the last inhabitant left Parthenon in 1970. After a few years with no residents, some wealthy Greeks settled in the village again and restored a number of buildings in the traditional northern Greek architectural style. In 2001 seven residents lived in the village all year round, and many more are only present in summer.

Abandoned traditional Greek house

Today the Parthenonas, with its restored houses and streets, is a popular and well-visited tourist destination. Two taverns, a café and a hostel have been set up to serve the guests. A folklore museum has been set up in the former school in the center of the village. For the annual village festival (πανηγύρι) in honor of the patron saint of Saint Panteleimon (Αγίου Παντελεήμονος) on July 27, many former residents and their descendants return to the village.
