Pascal Comelade
Pascal Comelade (born June 30, 1955 in Montpellier ) is a French - Catalan composer and instrumental musician. He has achieved particular importance as a film musician .
After living in Barcelona for a few years , he released his first record Fluence there in 1975 , which was influenced by electronic music and the French band Heldon . Later he turned increasingly to acoustic music, often playing his compositions on toy instruments, especially the children's piano . His minimalist but expressive pieces are mostly rhythmic and often take up tango or waltz rhythms .
Pascale Comelade has, e.g. Sometimes he also worked on his own publications with numerous musicians such as Robert Wyatt or Jaki Liebezeit . He is also featured on many compilations. The music of Yann Tiersen , who is 15 years his junior , is in many ways very similar to Comelade's pieces.
In Germany, the music Comelades was last heard more strongly again in 2005 as a film music for the summer in front of the balcony by Andreas Dresen . He enjoys the greatest recognition in Spanish Catalonia .
Comelade now lives in Céret , a small French town in the eastern Pyrenees on the border with Spain.
