Pascal Garnier

Pascal Garnier (born July 4, 1949 in Paris ; died March 5, 2010 in Cornas , Ardèche ) was a French writer .

Life

Garnier started writing in Lyon at the age of 35 . Before that he had stayed in North Africa and also tried his hand at rock music . His first books, l'Année sabbatique and Un chat comme moi , appeared in 1986.

His literary work ranges from detective novels to books for young people . He has made a name for himself with melancholy noir novels and has been compared to Georges Simenon in the critics . Since 1995 he has written one novel every year.

His main works are Personne n'est à l'abri du succès , Comment va la ouleur? and La Théorie du panda .

Awards

In 2006 he received the Prix ​​de l'Humour noir Xavier Forneret for the novel Flux .
