Pascal Meiser

Pascal Meiser (born March 7, 1975 in Saarbrücken ) is a German political scientist and member of the Bundestag ( Die Linke ).

Life

Pascal Meiser grew up in Nalbach -Körprich. In 1994 he passed his Abitur at the Johannes-Kepler Gymnasium in Lebach . He then studied political science , journalism and psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the University of Leeds and the Free University of Berlin . After graduating as a political scientist in 2005, he trained as a trade union secretary at IG Metall . He is head of the campaigns and party development department of DIE LINKE.

Pascal Meiser has been a member of the Die Linke Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district board since 2011, and has been the district chairman since 2013.

He was a direct candidate for the 2017 federal election in the constituency of Berlin-Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg - Prenzlauer Berg Ost (constituency 83) and in fourth place on the state list of the party Die Linke . He was elected to the Bundestag via the state list.

Berlin House of Representatives

In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , he came second in the constituency of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg 2 with 22.4% of the first votes.

In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 , he achieved third place in the first vote in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg 2 constituency with 7.7%.

Memberships

Meiser is u. a. Member of IG Metall, the Berlin tenants' association , Volkssolidarität and Pro Asyl .
