PassCode is an alternative idol group from Osaka founded in 2014 .
history
The group PassCode, founded in Osaka in 2013, consists of four singers Nao Minami, Kaede Takashima, Yuna Imada and Hinako Ogami, who are supported by an accompanying band .
After the band had released their first works on smaller labels, Universal Music Japan signed the band and released their second album Zenith in 2017 via the label. In 2018 the band signed a record deal with JPU Records , which released Ex Libris, a best-of album, exclusively in Europe in October of the same year .
The song All or Nothing (Japanese: Ichi ka Bachi ka ) serves as the opening credits for the second season of the live-action version of Kakegurui , as well as its live-action film. The single Starry Sky sold around 70,000 within the first week of sales, so that the group was able to reach number one in the Japanese single charts for the first time .
style
PassCode's music can, by and large, be described as an Alternative Idol. In addition to the clear vocals by Nao Minami, Kaede Takashima and Hinako Ogami, there is also the use of screamings , which are taken over by Yuna Imada. The singing is somewhat alienated by the use of autotune . The band mixes a wide variety of music styles such as metalcore , EDM and J-pop on a musical level . Most of the songs are performed in Japanese with small English passages.
