Patricia Stephens

Patricia "Patsey" Ann Stephens (born on 26. November 1928 as Patricia Ann Roberts in Baltimore , Maryland , died on 23. July 2016 ibid) was an American badminton player .

Life

Patricia Roberts attended the Friends School of Baltimore , Baltimore's oldest private school, and graduated there in 1944. She married World War II veteran Clinton Stephens , who returned to the United States in 1946 , with whom she had a daughter and a son. Stephens played tennis and badminton for many years and achieved success in badminton mixed and doubles.

Patricia Stephens won the 1948 open US Mixed Championships with her husband Clinton Stephens. A year later, both won the prestigious All England in mixed. In 1962 Patsey Stephens was successful again at the US Open, but this time in women's doubles with Judy Hashman .
