Patrick Jonsson

Patrick Jonsson (born February 9, 1968 in Lucerne , real name Patrick Wyss) is a Swiss singer and songwriter .

Life

Patrick Jonsson studied classical music at the Academy for School and Church Music in Lucerne. After graduating, he studied songwriting , performing and producing at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) for 2 years . He was previously active in various bands a. a. in the experimental quadrophonic band Groope . This released their album Hetero in 1994 on the label Killing Time / Zytglogge (producer Eric Merz).

His first album This Is The Sky under the name Patrick Jonsson was released in 2009 on the TBA label. The two songs Not Enough and Sunrise received attention from critics and radio stations. In 2010 the album This Is The Sky was also released in Germany on Timezone.

His second album, Pepople Are Strange , was released on Nation Music in 2013 . The single Better Morning was a much-played radio song on various Swiss radio stations and is still in various music rotations to this day. On this album Jonsson recorded two duets, Granville Road with Anna Känzig and Once You Open with Monika Schär (among others, singer with Trauffer ).

In 2015, the third album, Is There A Scale For Love , followed, a quiet album, which he recorded this time instrumentally alone. Appearances in Holland and France followed. In 2016 he appeared for the first time as a guest singer and sang on the album Dynamic by Flava and Stevenson . He sang the song Once In A Lifetime and wrote and sang the song Love Is Coming Back . His fourth album Rosy Rosy Please he published in 2016 on the label Profimusic (Professional Media).

In January 2019 Jonsson decided not to record any more albums, but to release the songs individually. In February 2019 he started working with the Norwegian producer Basslifter (Håkon Lundby). This collaboration resulted in the single Traveler , which was released by Profimusic in July 2019.

Jonsson played various support appearances a. a. for Gavin DeGraw , Daniel Powter , Minor Majority , Hawksley Workman , DJ Bobo , Pegasus . He also appeared at the Rose d'Or Festival at Zermatt Unplugged and at the Threshold Festival in Liverpool .
