Patzetz is a residential area of Sachsendorf , part of the town of Barby in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Sachsendorf is located in a flat area near the confluence of the Saale and the Elbe . The state road 63 and the district road 1284 run through the district. The state road 64 has its start and end point here. The village of Sachsendorf is located south of Patzetz.

history

Patzetz was a Vorwerk of Groß Rosenburg . The place appears for the first time in a document in 1100. On September 30, 1928, the Patzetz manor was united with the rural community of Sachsendorf.

economy

From 1884 to October 1, 1922, on the one hand, the Patzetz – Breitenhagen horse-drawn tram provided passenger transport to the Sachsendorf station. On the other hand, this - also so-called - beet train transported the beet harvest (after 1922 exclusively as freight transport) to the sugar factory in Dröbel (today part of Bernburg ). The track bed of the line that was closed in 1950 and then demolished is now a cycling and hiking trail.
