Paul Adami

Paul Adami (born July 9, 1739 in Trenčín , † November 11, 1814 in Vienna ) was an Austrian veterinarian and university teacher.

Life

Adami first studied law and then medicine at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1766. In 1767 he came to Croatia , where he worked as a government doctor to combat contagious animal diseases.

In 1775 he returned to Vienna and taught at the university there as a professor of cattle disease at the medical and surgical faculty. In 1803 he was transferred to Cracow by the Austrian government , where he was a full professor of animal pidemiology at the Jagiellonian University until 1809. He returned to Vienna and retired in 1812.
