Paul Boesch

Paul Bösch (born January 24, 1946 in Zurich ; † April 23, 2020 ) was a Swiss journalist and book author .

Life

Paul Bösch worked as a teacher for German and foreign languages ​​at secondary schools. Between 1966 and 1978 he spent three years studying theology and took a degree in German studies and history . From 1978 to 1982 he worked as a Zurich correspondent for various Swiss newspapers and then as editor of the Tages-Anzeiger (1982-2004), from 1991 as a member of the local editorial team. From 2004 to 2008 he worked part-time as editor of the magazine aufbruch , a monthly for religion and society. During this time he trained as a mediator . From 2009 to 2012 he was co-editor of the magazine Aufbruch.

Bösch was the father of two children. He died in April 2020 at the age of 74 from complications from cancer .

Services

Bösch wrote three books, one on the history of the reception of Francis of Assisi and a second under the title Meier 19 , in which he investigates a police and judicial affair in the city of Zurich and which became the basis of a successful documentary film. He has also published several articles in specialist journals on the question of the sources about Francis of Assisi, as well as the translation of the legend of St. Francis by Heinrich von Avranches from Latin (in book form).
