Paul Anselm Franz Beck (born June 18, 1845 in Altshausen , † December 25, 1915 in Ravensburg ) was a German historian and magistrate .

Life

Paul Anselm Franz Beck's parents were Peter Paul von Beck and Therese, née Halcko. First at the University of Tübingen , then at that in Göttingen , he studied law and was subsequently used as Assessoratsvertreter the Upper District Court Geislingen worked. He later moved to the Ellwangen District Court and then worked as an official representative at the Stuttgart City Court . He also received secondments to Welzheim and Weinsberg . He was put at the Ulm Higher Regional Court , then he was an assistant judge at the criminal chamberthe public prosecutor's office in Ulm. This place he kept held until 1883 for health reasons in the retirement occurred.

In 1894 he moved to Ravensburg ; There he took over the editing and publishing of the historical journal Diözesanarchiv von Schwaben , for which he subsequently wrote countless articles on Upper Swabian history. Beck also worked for the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie , for which he wrote 38 articles.

In 1912 he discontinued his magazine, which has since been renamed the Swabian Archive . He continued to live in Ravensburg, where he died three years later on December 25th. He was buried in the main cemetery in Ravensburg ; his grave is preserved there.
