Paul Falke (born January 6, 1920 in Schmallenberg ; † February 3, 1990 in Gstaad , Switzerland ) was a German entrepreneur and local politician .

He was the son of Franz Falke . After finishing school in Schmallenberg, he attended the textile school in Aachen and was a soldier during the Second World War . In 1951, together with his brother Franz-Otto, he became the head of the family business Falke . Since the 1950s , he built the company into one of the leading German textile companies. With the acquisition of the "Uhli-Feinstrumpfwerke" in Lippstadt , the entry into fine stocking production began in addition to processing wool . Falke was responsible for setting up a branch network and new production sites in South Africa , Portugal and Austria .

In addition, Falke was involved in various business associations. From 1947 he sat on the main committee of the Association of the North-West German Textile Industry and was President of the General Association of the German Mesh Industry from 1961 to 1989. He was also a member of the consumer goods committee of the BDI (Cologne) and was its chairman for several years. Falke was also represented on various supervisory boards or advisory boards, for example at Deutsche Bank and Horten .

Falke shaped the post-war period in Schmallenberg not only economically, but also in terms of local politics. Since 1945 he was a member of the CDU and for this party from 1952 to 1989 a councilor in Schmallenberg. He also sat from 1961 to 1974 in the office of the Schmallenberg office. From 1952 to 1984 Falke was mayor of Schmallenberg and since 1977 an honorary citizen of the city.
