Paul Gros

Victor Paul Gros (born July 17, 1890 in Paris , † July 8, 1961 ) was a French racing driver .

Career

Paul Gros was one of the racing drivers who competed in the first Le Mans 24-hour race in 1923 . Gros drove a works -Bignan 11HP Desmo Sport. Together with his partner, the Belgian Raymond de Tornaco , he achieved third place in the overall standings and won the class for series vehicles from 1.5 to 2 liters.

In addition to his participation in Le Mans, where he also competed in 1926 , the Frenchman contested the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race three times . His best placement was eighth overall in 1927 , together with Barthélémy Bruyère on a 2-liter Fasto . In the same year Gros and Berthelemy finished fourth in the Paris 24-hour race on the Montlhéry circuit .
