Paul Haarmeyer

Paul Haarmeyer (born July 14, 1928 in Hamburg ; † March 10, 2014 ) was a Hamburg CDU politician and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life and politics

Haarmeyer attended the Albrecht-Thaer -Gymnasium in Hamburg from 1939 to 1948 . Since his youth he was a member of the Catholic Bund New Germany . After initially training as a baker , Paul Haarmeyer studied from 1951 to 1954 at the University of Hamburg , graduating with a degree in business administration .

As a member of the CDU parliamentary group, Paul Haarmeyer belonged to the Hamburg parliament from 1966 to 1993. During this time he sat on the “Sports Committee” and the “Port, Economy and Agriculture” committee. In 1970 he was a founding member of the Hamburg medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU, which he chaired until 1994 and then became honorary chairman.
