Paul Hamy
Paul Hamy (* 1982 ) is a French - American film actor and also works as a model.
Life
Paul Hamy was born in 1982 to an American and a French film editor and therefore has French and US citizenship. Hamy became interested in auteur films very early on . Hamy says of his childhood that his mother showed him films by Akira Kurosawa , Alfred Hitchcock and Billy Wilder when he was seven . When Hamy was 16 years old, he became interested in fashion and started working as a model.
In the film Madame Recommended by Emmanuelle Bercot , Hamy took on his first role in a feature film with Marco. This was followed by the larger role of Julien in Katell Quillévéré's The Unshakable Love of Suzanne , for which Hamy received a nomination for best young actor at the 2014 César award and was awarded at the Festival du film de Cabourg that same year. Both films were released in 2013. Hamy received his first leading role in the film The Ornithologist by João Pedro Rodrigues , which premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2016 . In the film he plays the ornithologist Fernando, who becomes a completely new person after a bizarre journey. For this role, Hamy was awarded the Audience Award for Best Actor at the CinEuphoria Awards 2017.
Today Hamy spends his time between Paris and New York.
