Paul Johannes Beger

Paul Johannes Beger (born December 11, 1886 in Elstra ; † March 5, 1970 in Hanover ) was a German mineralogist and university professor at the TH Hanover .

Life

Beger studied at the University of Leipzig and received his doctorate there in 1919. In 1920 he completed his habilitation in mineralogy and petrography at the University of Tübingen with Paul Niggli and Balthasar Gossner with the text "The Chemism of Lamprophyre ". There he became associate professor in 1924 and full professor in 1925. In 1927 he was appointed to the TH Hannover, where he taught until 1955. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
