Paul Kahlfeldt

Paul Kahlfeldt (born September 23, 1956 in Berlin ) is professor for the basics and theory of building construction at the Technical University of Dortmund .

Life

From 1976 to 1978 Kahlfeldt did an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and cabinet maker. From 1979 to 1984 he studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin . There he graduated from Otto Steidle in 1984 . He then worked in various architectural offices in Berlin . Since 1987 he has been self-employed with his wife Petra Kahlfeldt . From 1988 to 1992 he was head of the Berlin office of Josef Paul Kleihues . In 1998 he received a teaching position at the University of Technology, Economics and Design in Bernburg (Saale) , Saxony-Anhalt . From 1999 to 2001 Paul Kahlfeldt worked as coordinator for the structural restoration of the Hellerau Festival Hall in Dresden . From 1999 to 2005 he was professor for design, building construction and building technology at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern . In 2004 he received his PhD from the Technical University of Delft . Since 2005 he has been Professor of Basics and Theory of Building Construction at the Technical University of Dortmund. He is a member of the board of directors of the German Werkbund Berlin and the International Building Academy Berlin .

The Kahlfeldt couple live and work in Berlin.
