Paul Knufinke

Paul Heinrich Knufinke (born July 27, 1932 in Lemgo ; † April 18, 2012 in Essen ) was a German mine separator.

Life

Paul Knufinke studied mine separation at RWTH Aachen University . In 1955 he became a member of the Corps Marko-Guestphalia Aachen . After completing his studies, he initially worked as a mine surveyor in industry. In Bochum he taught mine cutting at the Bergfachschule and the Fachhochschule Bergbau . In 1977 he became a Dr.-Ing. At the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University . PhD. In 1988 he was appointed to the chair for mine surveying at RWTH Aachen University and was appointed head of the institute for mine surveying, mining damage and geophysics in mining. In 1997 he retired.

Knufinke's work in the mining of instruments and mining damage is considered fundamental. He wrote the textbook General Surveying and Marking Studies .
