Paul Koppe

Paul Koppe (born January 20, 1928 in Koblenz , † April 12, 2003 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) was a German chemist.

Life

Koppe studied chemistry in Freiburg and at the Technical University of Darmstadt , where he received his doctorate in July 1960. In 1970 he came to the Ruhrverband and took over the management of the chemical and biological laboratory. He was also an honorary professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University .

After a serious heart attack in the fall of 1990, he took early retirement in early 1991. The convinced Catholic now volunteered in his community "Heilig Geist" in Mülheim an der Ruhr (where he lived since 1971) in the field of Caritas as well as pastoral care for the elderly and the sick. On April 12, 2003, Paul Koppe died as a result of a stroke. His wife Jutta, whom he married in 1953, stayed in Mülheim even after his death. She died on January 16, 2011 in a hospice in Bonn.

The Koppe couple have three sons: Michael (1955), Matthias (1961) and Bruno (1964). The latter is pastor at the St. Josef Hospital in Bonn-Beuel.
