Paul Kronenberg

Paul Kronenberg (* 1968 in Venray ) is a Dutch technician and the founder of a school for the blind.

Life

He grew up in Venray in the Netherlands. Kronenberg studied engineering, computer science, and business and communication technology. In 1997 he traveled alone to Tibet , where he met Sabriye Tenberken . Together they founded the "Blind Center Tibet" " Braille Without Borders " in 1998 . In 2000 a documentary was made about Tenberken and Kronenberg's work with the title "With Different Eyes" .

The Climbing Blind Project took place in 2004: Paul Kronenberg took part in a mountaineering expedition in Tibet led by Erik Weihenmayer , the first blind man to climb Mount Everest , together with Sabriye Tenberken and young people from the school for the blind in Lhasa as well as a US film team . However, this expedition had to be canceled due to bad weather conditions before reaching the summit . The film Blindsight won various audience awards: Berlinale , Palm Springs, AFI Los Angeles and, in October 2007, in Ghent , Belgium . The film was shown in German cinemas from January 2008 . Together with his partner, Kronenberg was interview guest at Reinhold Beckmann .
