Paul Langbein

Paul TJ Langbein (born March 14, 1842 , † November 1, 1908 in Würzburg ) was a German railway engineer.

Life

Paul Langbein began his professional career as a pioneer in the Prussian army , where he made it to the rank of captain .

In 1881 he invented the first trestle , which could also be used technically in everyday operation , which enabled the transport of standard-gauge wagons on narrow-gauge railways , also known as the "Langbein'scher trestle". At that time he was working in the mechanical engineering company Noell in Würzburg. From 1887 he was the technical director of the then newly founded locomotive factory Saronno in Italy , a branch of the Esslingen machine factory .
