Paul Lothar Jäger

Paul Lothar Jäger (born March 13, 1899 in Hilgen (Burscheid) , † December 6, 1981 in Cologne ) was a German Americanist.

Life

From 1919 to 1923 he studied English, German, geography and philosophy at the University of Cologne and from 1924 to 1925 at University College London . From 1922 to 1923 he was Arnold Schröer's research assistant in Cologne. After receiving his doctorate ( Wolfgang Müller von Königswinter and German Romanticism ) on February 10, 1923 and the first state examination on June 3, 1924, he was a lecturer there from 1926 to 1945 . From 1946 to 1947 he headed the Düsseldorf Interpreting Seminar . From 1947 to 1949 he was an adjunct professor at the State College of Interpreting in Germersheim . From 1949 to 1951 he was a research assistant at the University of Mainz , Foreign and Interpreting Institute Germersheim. From 1951 to 1967 he taught as a professor of American studies at the Germersheim International and Interpreting Institute.
