Oyo Odunayo Ojo

Oyeniran Olalere Odunayo Ojo (born August 11,  1973 in Lagos ) is a former German football player .

Life

Odunayo Ojo played American football in the Lübeck Cougars' youth division from 1989 . In 1993 he joined the regional league team Bremen Wolverines . In 1996, the 1.75-meter running back moved to the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in the German Football League. Odunayo Ojo made the leap to the NFL Europe in 1999 , he was signed by the Düsseldorf- based Rhein Fire team and played for the Rhinelander up to and including 2003. In 2000 he won the World Bowl with Rhein Fire , in 2002 and 2003 he also made it to the final of the NFL Europe with the team, but lost it.

Outside of the NFL Europe season, Odunayo Ojo was also a Düsseldorf Panther player in the Bundesliga from 2000 . In the game year 2002 he was a member of the second division Dresden Monarchs and rose to the top German league with the Saxons. From 2003 to 2005 Odunayo Ojo ran for the Essen team Assindia Cardinals , he ended his playing career after the 2006 season, in which he returned to the starting point of his career and played for the Lübeck Cougars in the second division.

He worked as a trainer in Hamburg in the youth area of ​​the St. Pauli Buccaneers, in 2008 he was responsible for the running backs at the Assindia Cardinals for their GFL recovery. In July 2009 Odunayo Ojo was appointed to the coaching staff of the German national team, where he took care of the running backs. In this position he contributed to winning the 2010 European Championship. In 2012 he took up the position of attack coordinator for the Solingen Paladins (Oberliga).
