Paul Meyer (architect)

Paul Meyer (born November 6, 1891 in Schaffhausen ; † January 5, 1980 there , entitled to live in Schaffhausen and Wilchingen ) was a Swiss architect .

Life

Paul Meyer was born on November 6, 1891 in Schaffhausen as the son of the master builder Gottfried Meyer and Habicht, born Louise Margaretha. Paul Meyer initially took up a degree in architecture at the ETH Zurich , which he continued at the University of Stuttgart , where he obtained his diploma in 1917 .

As a result, he initially worked in his father's construction business as well as in various architectural offices in Lucerne, Wattwil and St. Gallen . In 1925, Paul Meyer and Karl Scherrer founded the architecture firm Scherrer & Meyer in Schaffhausen, which existed until 1956. During this collaboration, a number of remarkable buildings were created.

Paul Meyer, who married Ida born in 1919, died on January 5, 1980, two months after he had turned 88 in Schaffhausen.
