Paul Nilsson

Lars Johan Paulinus Nilsson (born June 22, 1866 , † October 28, 1951 ) was a Swedish Evangelical Lutheran theologian , pastor and hymn poet .

In 1906 he composed the song "Se, vi går upp till Jerusalem" ("See we're going up to Jerusalem"). The song was translated into German by Karl-Ludwig Voss in 1970 and included in the Hesse-Nassau regional section of the Evangelical Hymnal (EG). In 2019 it was published in the supplementary booklet to the EG, as it was determined to be one of two weekly songs of the last Sunday of the pre-Passion time, Estomihi .
