Paul Preuss (also Paul Preuss ; born November 21, 1897 in Elbing , West Prussia; † February 6, 1970 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). He was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament from 1950 to 1954 and between 1962 and 1967 .

Life

After elementary school, Paul Preuss attended a business school and completed a commercial apprenticeship. He later worked as the head of the Allensteiner Zeitung office in Soldau (East Prussia). Preuss was a member of the NSKK and senior squad leader.

After the Second World War he worked as the city commissioner for displaced persons, refugees and war victims in Lübeck .

Preuss had been a member of the SPD since 1917. After the war, Preuss became politically active again, so in 1949 he became a member of the board of the settlement and building cooperative and in the following year a member of the district board of the SPD. In the 1950 state elections, Preuss was able to win constituency 44 (Lauenburg-Ost) as a direct candidate for the SPD and was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament, to which he initially belonged from August 7, 1950 to August 6, 1954. In the following electoral term, he missed entry into the state parliament. On January 7, 1960, Preuss succeeded MP Heinrich Sellmann, who had died during the fourth legislative term, in the state parliament. In the next election in 1962, Preuss was elected as a candidate for the SPD's state list and kept his seat in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament until April 28, 1967.
