Paul Rubin

Paul Harold Rubin (born August 9, 1942 in Boston ) is an American economist . He is Professor of Economics at Emory University in Atlanta .

Life

Rubin first studied at the University of Cincinnati ( BA 1963) and received his doctorate in 1970 from Purdue University on the subject of A Theoretical Model of the Diversification Decision of the Firm . From 1968 to 1982 he was a professor at the University of Georgia . From 1982 to 1983 he was a professor at Baruch College , after which he taught at George Washington University . Since 1991 he has been a professor at Emory University.

In addition to his academic activities, Rubin was a member of the Council of Economic Advisers in the 1980s , worked for the Federal Trade Commission , the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Glassman-Oliver Economic Consultants .

Rubin's primary field of research is the economic analysis of law . Among other things, he has published on the death penalty and the Bill of Rights . In 2002 his book Darwinian Politics: The Evolutionary Origin of Freedom , an analysis of the evolution of political and economic behavior, was published. Rubin also writes for newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal .
