Paul Schroeder (born August 18, 1894 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † January 10, 1974 in Dänischenhagen near Kiel) was a German doctor and professional politician.

Live and act

Schroeder's parents were the lawyer Felix Schroeder and his wife Adolfine geb. Berent. After graduating from high school in 1913 at the Royal Lyck High School , he served as a one-year volunteer with the Emperor Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 in Berlin. From 1914 he studied medicine at the Kaiser Wilhelm Academy for military education . During the First World War, Schroeder became a field medical officer in 1917 after completing his physical education. After the medical state examination, he was in 1920 at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin to Dr. med. PhD. From 1921 to 1929 Schroeder worked as a general practitioner in Dänischenhagen. In 1929 he returned to Königsberg and practiced there as a resident doctor in Juditten until the end of the war . In 1930 Schroeder became a board member (1933 chairman) of the Königsberg Doctors Association. From 1936 he was chairman of the East Prussian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. From 1942 to 1945 he was the last head of the East Prussian Medical Association. At the end of the war and after his escape from Juditten, Schroeder became chief physician at the Eckernförde marine hospital. In 1945 he founded the East Prussian family of doctors , an association of doctors and their relatives who had fled East Prussia and those who worked there. In 1947 he was arrested for allegedly establishing a secret resistance movement against the occupying power and was for a short time banned from writing. Until 1964 Paul Schroeder was resident in Dänischenhagen as a general practitioner. He was a member of the board of the Schleswig-Holstein Medical Association from 1954 to 1962.
