Andreas Mettenleiter (* 1968 ) is a German medical historian.

Live and act

Mettenleiter studied medicine and human sciences at the University of Regensburg , the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , the La Sapienza University , the Utrecht University and the Caen University . With a dissertation on Adam Christian Thebesius he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . He is a lecturer at the Institute for the History of Medicine at the University of Würzburg. His publications focus on the von Siebold dynasty of doctors, especially Philipp Franz von Siebold , and the history of medicine in Würzburg. 2012 curatedhe the exhibition Philipp Franz von Siebold: Youth in Würzburg. He is the 2nd chairman of the Siebold-Gesellschaft , a member of the Corps Moenania Würzburg and the managing director of a teaching materials company.
