Marion Maria Ruisinger

Marion Maria Ruisinger (* 1963 in Münchberg ) is a German physician , medical historian and museum director.

Live and act

Marion Maria Ruisinger studied English , Islamic Studies , book and library studies and human medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1982 to 1989 . She then completed a doctoral degree in human medicine with grants from the Erika Giehrl Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service until 1994 .

In 1996, she was at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a thesis on the Greek healthcare under King Otto graduated and received the 1997 Dissertation Award of the Medical Faculty of the University. She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and at the same time (until 2000) lecturer for internal medicine at the university's state vocational school for nursing . In 2001 she completed her specialist training in general medicine and naturopathy . 2005 habilitation they are interested in the subject of History of Medicine with a thesis on Lorenz Heister . In 2006 she received the habilitation award from the medical faculty ( Thiersch award ). In the same year she became the university management's representative for the university's collections.

In 2008 she succeeded Christa Habrich as director of the German Museum of Medical History in Ingolstadt and was appointed as the first full-time director. She was the 2nd chairwoman of the Society of Friends and Supporters of the German Medical History Museum Ingolstadt. Since 2009 she has been a member of the board of the German Society for the History of Medicine, Science and Technology .
