Paul Schulz-Gahmen

Paul Schulz-Gahmen (born April 21, 1867 in Gahmen ; † September 27, 1941 in Münster ) was a German farmer and politician ( center ).

Life and work

Schulz-Gahmen was born the son of a general practitioner and landowner. After graduating from primary school and attending the royal high school in Münster up to Obersekunda , he completed practical training in agriculture and in the attached in-house distillery. He then worked on his parents' farm in Lünen-Gahmen. After the death of his father he took over the management of the estate and the distillery. He was a co-founder of the Lünen savings and construction association and a member of the Münster Chamber of Agriculture.

Schulz-Gahmen was chairman of the Association of Grain Distillery Owners and Compressed Yeast Manufacturers in Germany, a member of the supervisory board of the Association of German Compressed Yeast Manufacturers and a member of the board of the Westphalian Farmers' Association . He was also a member of the administrative board of the regional government of Westphalia and a member of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce .

Schulz-Gahmen was buried in the Herz-Jesu-Friedhof in Lünen .

Political activity

Schulz-Gahmen joined the Center Party, was a board member of the Center Party in Westphalia and a member of the local party committee. In addition, he was a member of the Reich Party Committee. From 1897 to 1922 Schulz-Gahmen was the head of the community in Gahmen and a member of the official assembly in Derne . He was a distant member of the district committee and the district council in Dortmund . From June 1920 to September 1930 he sat in the Reichstag . In 1921 he was one of the centre's deputies who opposed Matthias Erzberger . After 1923 he was also a member of the city council of Lünen.
