Paul Zademack

Paul Zademack ( February 19, 1837 in Berlin - December 18, 1893 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German theater actor and director .

Life

After finishing his high school studies, Zademack took lessons from Karl Töpfer in Hamburg , where he made his first appearance in 1855 as "King Friedrich" in King's orders . One immediately noticed his talent and in the same month the young character actor received an engagement in Düsseldorf. In 1856 he worked in Königsberg and from 1857 to 1858 in a preferred position at the Stadttheater in Kiel , where he was also given the direction of the entire theater.

In the last year he signed a contract with the theater in Graz , but was only artistically active there for a short time, because he received a guest application to Frankfurt am Main, where he was chosen to succeed Friedrich Haase . He made his debut as “Franz Moor”, “Wurm”, “Caligula”, “King Philip” in Don Carlos and “King Friedrich” in King's orders , with such success that he was immediately engaged.

After a year, however, he left Frankfurt, became a member of the Stadttheater in Breslau in 1860 , of the Stadttheater in Cologne in 1861, worked in Amsterdam in 1862, at the Hoftheater in Coburg-Gotha in 1863 and returned to Frankfurt as a mature artist that year, where he will be Engagement as "Narciß", "Hans Lange", "Shylock" and "Mephisto" began.

Zademack was not only one of the most popular, but also one of the busiest members of the Frankfurt City Theater , because statistics show that during these 25 years he appeared on stage 3333 times as an actor. After Zademack had worked at the Frankfurt City Theater for 30 years, he appeared for the last time on February 16, 1893 as "King's Lieutenant". After leaving, he was made an honorary member of the Frankfurt City Theater. Zademack, who was married to the opera singer Mimi László-Doria , died on December 18, 1893. He was buried in the Frankfurt main cemetery.
