Pavel Alexandrovich Wiskowatow
Pavel Alexandrovich Wiskowatow ( russian . Павел Александрович Висковатов, scientific transliteration Pavel Aleksandrovich Viskovatov ; in Germany, Paul von Wiskowatow , born November 24 . Jul / 6. December 1842 greg. In Saint Petersburg , † April 16 jul. / April 29 1905 greg. Ibid) was a Russian literary historian and librettist.
The son of the military historian Alexander Wassiljewitsch Wiskowatow studied in St. Petersburg, Bonn and Leipzig . From 1873 he worked as a lecturer at the University of Dorpat , from 1874 to 1895 as a professor of Russian literature.
Together with Apollon Maikow he wrote the libretto for Anton Grigorjewitsch Rubinstein's opera The Demon .
