Paula Doell

Paula Doell (born June 29, 1900 in Mannheim , † March 1, 1983 in Heidelberg ) was a German opera singer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending elementary school, commercial school and commercial college, Doell completed a degree in music (piano, organ and singing) at the University of Music in Mannheim . She worked in publishing to finance her studies. She attended opera school and passed the aptitude test for the stage profession (opera art) at the Frankfurt Opera House . After taking the microphone test at the Reichssender Stuttgart , she worked as an oratorio singer in Germany and abroad. In 1940 she married a Protestant pastor, after which she ended her career as a singer. She became a housewife and henceforth devoted herself to church affairs. After the Second World War she was the leader of the Protestant women's group, the children's group and the children's and church choirs in Kehl .

Doell was a co-founder of the CDU in Kehl in 1946 and acted as deputy chairwoman of the regional women's advisory board of the Christian Democrats in Baden . From July 25, 1955 to 1956, she was a member of the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Parliament as a replacement for the late MP Max Jäger and from October 1, 1957 to 1960 as a replacement for the retired MP Anton Dichtel . The Landtag elected her to the first (1949) and third (1959) federal assemblies .
