Paula Fuchs

Paula Fuchs (née Mauch) (born July 7, 1922 in Stuttgart ; † October 14, 2013 ) was a German local politician . For many years she was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Heilbronn's municipal council and in 1997 became an honorary citizen of Heilbronn.

Life

Paula Mauch came from a family of railway workers and came to Heilbronn with her parents in 1934. She worked for the Reichsbahn and in travel agencies, later as an accountant for her husband, who worked as an architect. In 1967 she joined the CDU , founded the CDU women's association in Heilbronn in 1971 and was elected to the Heilbronn local council for the first time in the same year, of which she remained a member until September 1994. From 1976 to 1993 she was parliamentary group leader of the CDU and honorary deputy of the respective mayor of Heilbronn . In 1992 she was a co-founder of the Seniors Union.

On July 7, 1982, Paula Fuchs was awarded the golden coins of the city of Heilbronn and the CDU regional association on the occasion of her 60th birthday. In 1987 she received the Ring of Honor of the City of Heilbronn and the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . In 1993 she was awarded the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg , and in 1997 she became an honorary citizen of Heilbronn. She was also honorary chairwoman of the Heilbronn CDU. In 2017, the through road planned under the name Westrandstrasse in the still-to-be-built Neckarbogen district was renamed Paula-Fuchs-Allee .
