Paula Montal Fornés
Paula Montal Fornés (de San José de Calasanz) , in Catalan Paula Montal i Fornés de Sant Josep de Calassanç , (born October 11, 1799 in Arenys de Mar ; † February 26, 1889 in Olesa de Montserrat ) was a Spanish founder and is a saint of the Catholic Church .
Life
Paula Montal Fornés, who came from a family of craftsmen, taught the catechism to children and young people from an early age . In 1829, at the age of 30, she founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary, Sisters of the Pious School ( Congregación de Hijas de María, Religiosas de las Escuelas Pías , common abbreviation: Escolapias ), which focuses on the education of children and young people based on the model of the founder of the Piarist Order , St. José Calasanz , dedicated.
Paula Montal Fornés was by Pope John Paul II. 1993 blessed - and on 25 November 2001 the Christ the King , canonized . Her feast day in the liturgy is February 26th .
