The Paulsberg is a 298.3 meter high ridge in the east of the city of Wuppertal .
topology
The mountain is located in the easternmost Wuppertal district of Langerfeld-Beyenburg in the Herbringhauser Forest and is not populated. It is bordered in the north by the Wupper , in the west by the Marscheider Bach and in the east by the Herbringhauser Bach .
At the confluence of the Herbringhauser Bach and the Wupper at the foot of the mountain was the Lower Herbringhauser Dam, which was closed in 2006 . In the valley of the Wupper, which separates the Paulsberg from the Ehrenberg to the north , lies the Wuppertal district of Kemna , which was the location of the Kemna concentration camp in 1934 .
The northern, eastern and western slopes of the Paulsberg are steep and densely forested. In the south, on the neighboring elevation, lies the Wuppertal village of Herbringhausen at a comparable altitude .
Numerous forest paths cover the mountain, as well as the route of a high-voltage line . In the late Middle Ages, two lines of the Bergische Landwehr crossed the mountain.
