Pavel Bečka (born November 7, 1970 in Ústí nad Labem , Bohemia ) is a former Czech basketball player . The national player came in 1995 from the Czech championship third USK Prague to the German second division Oldenburger Turnerbund, with whom he rose to the top division five years later. After a slipped disc in 2003, Bečka returned to the field, but ended his active career with this club in 2004, even if he was reactivated again in 2006 for two games in the professional team. For its many years of service in the first team, the club EWE Baskets, as the professional men's team has been called since 2001 for sponsorship reasons , has banned its jersey number 8, i.e. it has been pulled under the ceiling and will not be allowed to be worn by any other EWE Baskets player in the future become. After participating in the finals with the Czechoslovak national team in the 1991 European basketball championship , Bečka only reached the 1999 European Championship finals with the Czech national team , in which the Czechs finished twelfth.
Today Pavel Bečka is committed to nature conservation. As a project manager at Euronatur , he oversees nature conservation projects in Europe.
