Pavel Fiala

Pavel Fiala (born March 29, 1937 in Prague ; † June 20, 2016 in Trutnov ) was a Czech playwright, dramaturge and director and founder of the Kladivadlo Theater .

Life

Pavel Fiala played an important role in the development of the cabaret in Czechoslovakia from the late 1950s. In 1960 he founded the Kladivadlo Theater in Broumov . Because his theater became politically unpopular, he had to go to Kadaň in 1963 , where he ran the theater from 1963 to 1965. In 1965 he also had to leave Kadaň and worked with his theater in Ústí nad Labem , in which he also played, directed and wrote plays . Although the theater received numerous positive reviews and awards and even performed abroad, Fiala had to leave the theater in 1971 under pressure from local party officials, which was then dissolved. In the 1970s and 1980s he worked with the cabaret Semafor .
