Pavel Mirov
Pavel Mirov (born June 18, 1911 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Mirov studied theology and psychology before studying singing with the bass-baritone Friedrich Plaschke in Prague . From 1938 to 1941 and again from 1946 to 1948 he sang at the National Theater in Prague . From 1942 to 1944 he was a member of the Dresden State Opera . After several years of freelance guest performance, he was a member of the ensemble of the Nuremberg Opera House from 1956 until his retirement . Guest appearances have taken him to Switzerland and Austria, England, Spain and Portugal. His repertoire included the Rossillon in The Merry Widow , Florestan in Fidelio , Laca in Jenůfa , Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew and the title roles in Raskolnikoff ( Sutermeister ) and Tannhauser .
