Paweł Wróbel

Paweł Wróbel (born April 24, 1984 in Jasło ) is a Polish organist .

Life

Wróbel studied organ at the Fryderyk Chopin University for Music in Warsaw with Andrzej Chorosiński, at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Jon Laukvik and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Gunther Rost . He obtained his doctorate in 2012 with a dissertation on The Organ Transcription by Franz Liszt at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznan .

In 2012 he won 3rd prize at the 6th International Organ Competition in Miami. He also received a grant from the Keimyung Research Foundation at the University of Seoul . Since 2004 he has played concerts on the organ of the basilica in Licheń Stary .

As part of the Warsaw Autumn Festival 2008, Wróbel gave four world premieres of works by young Polish composers: Witraże by Barbara Kaszuba, Trans.For.My Emptines (Transforma) by Klaudia Pasternak, Proxima Centauri by Mateusz Ryczek and Odksztalcenia by Jacek Sotomski. He also recorded a CD for the Warsaw Autumn Festival.

He continued to study in master classes and music symposia with Christoph Krummacher , Ludger Lohmann , Gerhard Weinberger , Wolfgang Zerer , Martin Sander and Bernhard Haas .

He is the author of the organ transcription of Funéraille (from the Harmonies poétiques et religieuses , 1849) by Franz Liszt (Polihymnia publishing house, Lublin).
