Pawel Alexejewitsch Wolja ( Russian Па́вел Алексе́евич Во́ля ; born March   14, 1979 in Penza , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian stand-up comedian, television and radio presenter, actor, voice actor, DJ, pop singer and participant in the Russian comedy Show Comedy Club .

Life

Pawel Wolja was born in Penza, the son of Alexej and Tamara Wolja. He has a younger sister named Olga (* 1982).

In 1996 Pavel Volja graduated from the 11th Middle School in Penza. Volja then studied Russian language and literature at the Penza State Pedagogical University , graduating successfully in 2001. During her studies, Wolja took part in the well-known student game "KWN" and occasionally appeared as a deejay in the Pensa discotheque "Mix-up". He also hosted a program on Russkoye Radio's Penza local program .

After graduating, Volya moved to Moscow to continue his career there. At the end of 2001 he made his debut as a TV presenter for the music broadcaster MUS-TW . At the same time he worked at Hit FM as a deejay and as a scenarioist for the film producer Igor Ugolnikow .

On April 9, 2005, the Russian comedy show Comedy Club went on air on TNT television . Pavel Volja appeared as a stand-up comedian on the first broadcast of this show. His appearance was received very differently in the media. His cynical, often quite black humor often caused controversy. Pavel Wolja pursues an overall very provocative and even offensive style, but pays great attention to his appearance and always dresses fashion-consciously. This earned him the nickname “glamor dregs”.

In 2007, Volja started his singing career in pop music . He shot some video clips like “For Mama!”, “The very best song” or “Pensa-City”. At the end of 2007, a video appeared on the Internet showing Pavel Volja being insulted and beaten up by a street gang. It later emerged that the video was purely a PR campaign to promote Volja's new album. In the same year Pavel Volja dubbed the Russian version of the computer-animated comedy Kings of the Waves .

In 2008 Pavel Alexeyevich Volja made his actor debut.

In 2009 Wolja continued his career as Deejay and in 2010 released the double CD "HOT SUMMER / COLD SUMMER" as DJ Pavel Volya .

Since April 2012, Pavel Wolja has been moderating the "Comedy Battle" program on the TNT television channel .

Volja has been married to the Russian- Bashkir actress Lyaisan Utjaschewa since September 2012 . Their son Robert was born on May 14, 2013 in Miami . The young family lives in Moscow Oblast .
