Pavel Stepanovich Roschitsky

Pavel Stepanovich Roschizki ( Russian Павел Степанович Рожицкий * 1893 in Zhitomir , Russian Empire ; † 1. October 1971 in Leningrad ) was a Soviet theater - and film - actor .

Life and accomplishments

Roschitsky began his stage career in 1917. In the 1920s and 30s he appeared in theaters in Moscow , Stary Oskol , Staraya Russa , Leningrad, Buzuluk and Kolomna .

In 1931, the native Ukrainian was hired by the Mosfilmstudio , where he was under contract until 1942. At the same time, Roschizki attended the drama school attached to the studio and graduated here in 1935.

The dark-haired mime made his film debut in 1927 as a priest in the Belarusian production Лесная быль ( Lesnaja byl ) based on a story by Michas Tscharot. Under the direction Yury Viktorovich Taritschs, the director of the movie, Roschizki was 1928 in Капитанская дочка ( Kapitanskaja dotschka ), an adaptation of Alexander Pushkin The Captain daughter , and in Свои и чужие ( Swoi i tschuschije ) by Vladimir Kirschons novel Константин Терехин ( Konstantin Terekhin ) to see. Three more roles followed by 1932, before Roschitsky no longer appeared in front of the camera until 1936. After that he had ten more film engagements until 1960, but was never mentioned in the credits again . His later roles include that of Mikhailo in the short film Переполох ( Perepoloch , 1954) based on Anton Chekhov's short story Mess and that of a robber in Alexander Rous Драгоценный подарок ( Dragozenny podarok , 1956).

In 1970 he moved into a retirement home for former actors named after the actress Marija Gavrilovna Sawina in Leningrad and died in the autumn of the following year.
