Pawel Wladimirowitsch Voroshnin ( Russian Павел Владимирович Ворошнин ; born March 23, 1984 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk in the Vysschaya Hockey League since 2011 .
Career
Pavel Voroshnin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of the HK tractor Chelyabinsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, in the 2001/02 season . The defender then played for three years in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League for the Mississauga IceDogs and Owen Sound Attack . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the sixth round as a total of 172nd player by the Buffalo Sabers , for which he however never played. Instead, the left-shot returned to Russia, where he ran up for Metallurg Serow in the Vysschaya League in the 2004/05 season. For the 2005/06 season he moved to HK Lada Tolyatti from the Russian Super League , with which he won the IIHF Continental Cup at European level in 2006 .
After he had started the 2006/07 season with Lada Tolyatti, Voroshnin signed with his league rival Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast . For the 2008/09 season , the Russian was committed by Chimik Voskressensk , for which he scored a goal in 41 games in the newly founded Continental Hockey League and gave six templates. After the club was excluded from the KHL for financial reasons at the end of the season, he spent the 2009/10 season with the second division Rubin Tyumen , HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk and HK Metschel Tscheljabinsk . For the 2010/11 season he joined the PHK Krylja Sowetow Moscow from the new second Russian division, the Wysschaja Hockey League . After his professional division was dissolved, he moved to WHL newcomer HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk for the 2011/12 season .
